Katie Martin - Site Director
Katie comes to Lextended Day from the YMCA of Greater Boston. She started out in college working at the summer camp in Woburn and grew to become the Camp Director after graduating. Over the past 5 years she has been in charge of camp as well as running an after school program in Burlington during the school year. Katie has enjoyed bringing the fun energy to camp and is excited to do the same at the Fiske Lextended day! In her free time Katie enjoys spending time with family both at home and up at Lake Winnipesaukee.
Kelly Doherty - Assistant Site Director
Kelly is in her fourth year at Lextended! Kelly has been a group leader and then last year the group coridinator. She looks forward to expanding programs and making the children's day at Lextended memorable! She is a resident of Lexington and graduate of the Lexington Public school system. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the State University of New York College at Oswego with a bachelor’s degree in studio art and a minor in expressive arts therapy. One can often find her behind a camera lens as photography is her favorite medium. She comes from a large extended family that fills her days with much crafting and playing.
Shannon Grant - K Teacher
Shannon has been Lextended Day's Kindergarten Coordinator since March of 2015. Her primary goals are coordinating daily projects based on weekly themes for the kindergartners, and assisting with overseeing the children. Shannon is a graduate of Plymouth State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Physiology. She aspires to go to graduate school and study child-focused occupational therapy. On her spare time, she stays active by going on bike rides and hikes.
Michaela is a Keene State College graduate that works at Hastings during the school day and spends her afternoons in Fiske's Lextended Day program! She enjoys playing outside with the students, holding Chess competitions, and has a Graphic Design business on the side. Michaela also volunteers annually in the Dominican Republic helping out with youth programming.
Faith joined Lextended Day in the Fall of 2017. She is a graduate of Lexington High School and currently attends Middlesex Community College. She loves helping with outside free play and playing with the kids over a board game. One of her favorite hobbies is to take photographs of her friends.
Penny is joining us for her second year at Lextended day! A retired Spanish teacher with over 25 years of experience, she has enjoyed the opportunity to work with children again. At Lextended she enjoys building a rapport with the children by playing one of one games and helping with outside free play. She especially enjoys Fiske's theme weeks and special events such as Olympic Day and Halloween week.
Amy Corbett- Kindergarten assistant
Amy is joining Lextended this school after being home for the past few years raising her three boys. She comes from the LEAP School in Bedford where she worked for seven years as a Toddler/ preschool/ kindergarten lead teacher. Amy got her bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock college in Boston MA. She continued her education at Lesley University where she received her masters degree in education. In her spare time, Amy enjoys spending time with her family and taking adventures with her kids.
This is Paul’s first year at Lextended Day! He is a graduate of UConn and has been working in education for two years, and is currently working as a paraprofessional at Chelmsford High School. Paul started working with kids in a camp setting 4 years ago, and then continued to work with them as a guitar instructor. Paul loves going outside and playing board games with the kids. In his spare time, he plays guitar in his band and enjoy watching sports!
Michelle is a new addition to the Lextended Day Program, starting in the fall of 2018. She has enjoyed working with children for many years, including camp counseling, instructing dance classes, and working as an instructional assistant for Melrose and Andover Public Schools. Michelle will be starting her internship at Andover High School in the Guidance department as she finishes her Masters in Education with a focus in School Counseling. Michelle enjoys teaching dance and fitness classes to children and people of all ages and loves to spend her free time with family and friends.
Jamie is a recent graduate of Lesley University, who’s just starting out with Lextended Day. She has been teaching and costuming for a community children’s theater program for the last four summers and has done three semesters’ work with The Girlhood Project, promoting media literacy and self love among pre-teen girls. She’s passionate about creating spaces that allow children to explore their creativity, and give quieter voices a chance to come to the forefront.
Ashley is currently a sophomore at Regis College pursuing a social work degree. Ashley was previously an education major at Mount Ida College. After college, her hopes are to continue working with children and making a difference in their lives. She has worked with elementary aged students at the Boys and Girls Club for 3 years at both an after school and camp setting. Outside of school and work, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, watching movies, and doing crafts.
Leah grew up in Billerica, Massachusetts and lettered in ice hockey and track. She is currently attending Southern New Hampshire University and will graduate in May 2020 with her Bachelor’s degree in Education. After Leah graduates, her plan is to attend graduate school and get her Master’s in social work and counseling to pursue her passion for helping kids and their families. In the summer she works for the Lexplorations program lead by Lexington community education. Leah loves to play and coach hockey, golf, and ski.
